What We Do
Soffit & Fascia Done Right
Soffit and fascia are two of the most overlooked — and most important — components of your home’s exterior. They seal and protect the roofline from moisture and pests, provide critical attic ventilation, and give your home’s exterior a clean, finished look.
At Eclat Home, we install, repair, and replace soffit and fascia for residential and commercial properties across the GTA. Whether you’re dealing with rotting wood fascia, damaged vinyl soffit, or simply upgrading your home’s exterior — our team delivers quality workmanship and lasting results.

What Is Soffit & Fascia — And Why Does It Matter?
Two of the most important — and most misunderstood — parts of your roofline. Here's what they are, what they do, and why they need to be in good condition.
The soffit is the exposed surface beneath the roof's overhang — the panel you see when you look up at your roofline from outside. It closes off the gap between the wall and roof edge, keeping pests and weather out while allowing air into the attic.
The fascia is the vertical board that runs along the lower edge of your roofline — the board your eavestroughs are attached to. It closes off the ends of the roof rafters, supports the bottom row of shingles, and acts as a mounting surface for gutters.
Material Options
Soffit & Fascia Materials We Install
Wood
Traditional and paintable — wood soffit and fascia offer a classic appearance but require regular painting and maintenance to prevent rot in the GTA's wet climate. Best for: Heritage homes · Budget installations
Vinyl
Low-maintenance and moisture-resistant — vinyl soffit and fascia never needs painting, resists rot and insects, and is available in a wide range of colors and styles. Best for: Most residential homes · Low maintenance
Aluminum
The premium choice — aluminum soffit and fascia is the most durable option, highly resistant to impact, wind, and moisture, and provides the cleanest, most professional finish. Best for: Premium homes · Long-term durability

Soffit & Fascia — Common Questions
The fascia is the vertical board that runs along the edge of your roofline — where eavestroughs are attached. The soffit is the horizontal panel underneath the roof overhang, between the fascia and the exterior wall. Both work together to seal and protect your roofline.
Wood soffit and fascia lasts 10–20 years with regular maintenance. Vinyl typically lasts 20–30 years. Aluminum can last 40+ years with virtually no maintenance.
Yes — and we recommend it. Installing all three together ensures proper integration, a clean finished appearance, and prevents the need to disturb new eavestroughs to replace deteriorating fascia later.
Yes — vented soffit allows fresh air into the attic, working together with ridge vents to create proper airflow. This prevents heat and moisture buildup that leads to mold, ice dams, and premature roof deterioration.
Signs include visible holes or gaps in panels, scratching or rustling sounds in the roofline area, wasp nests or bird activity near soffits, or visible staining from animal activity. We inspect and seal all entry points during installation.
Vinyl soffit and fascia are available in a wide range of standard colors — white, clay, beige, brown, and others. We help you select a color that coordinates with your existing exterior.
